Korea part III

We left the Alpensia Ski resort and went to stay In Seoul that night but we drop by at Everland for a couple of hours. We totally forgot to bring our camera and left it in the bus :( We took some pictures from the blackberry but they’re not that good. Arggggh…. No pictures in such beautiful place. We’re in a rush because we had a reservation dinner at Tony Romas.

After dinner, we went to Myeong Dong, wondering around. Not only lots of nice stores over there, but lots of food stalls on the street. Some sell accessories, clothes, shoes etc in front of branded store.

These below pictures were taken from our hotel, Fraser Place. Seoul is organized and clean. I like it. Maybe, I already fall in love with South Korea now. hahahahah

Chinese New Year

TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE IT:
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR
My dad in law always invite his sisters and their families to have dinner together before the day of the Chinese New Year. It’s a great opportunities for us to catch up with each other. What a lovely evening! As a family, we value family relationships a lot. David’s dad is the eldest in the family, he always gives good examples for all of us to care about each other so much. He’s like the problem solver in our big families.
Here I post our outfits and delicious food we had.

Korea part II

Look at me! I look like a walking pillow with my puffer jacket. This was our second day, my body still shocked with the sub-zero degree temperature. I had to wear this bulky boots to keep my feet warm since I did my mistake wearing the other boots to Nami Island that afternoon. It’s far from what you call it fashion, huh?
All I care was keeping my whole body warm.

In Alpensia ski resort, there are many hotels. There is also Holiday Inn. But we stayed at the Intercontinental hotel. It was the right choice. As we entered the lobby, we could feel the warm and cosy atmosphere. We loved it.  One day, we want to go there again and stay longer on the mountain.

This pictures below was the view at the ski area at night. I wish I took more pictures, it’s beautiful at night.

My husband took these two scenery  below from our room balcony. I love watching the white snow every where.

You know, we  studied in Boston where it was snowing during the winter, but we never went skiing at all before. In the beginning of our study in Boston, there was a student from Surabaya had an accident and died on the way of his trip to play ski. My dad in law happenend to know his parents. So, we were forbidden to play ski at all during our study there. So this Korea trip was our first time learning how to ski ever. Too late huh? I’m older now. They say it’s easier to learn every thing when you are younger, especially in sports. We hire a coach for the whole family.  Nice guy, but I think he lost his faith in us since he found out after  two hours lessons we chose to play snow slide instead of continuing  practicing  skiing. My body was aching especially my back. it was harder than I thought :)

I think I fall in love eating Korean food. I gained two kilograms when I was there.
Bibimbap in a hotstone bowl.

This dish below has pork intestines, tofu, dumplings and vegetable in the sup. It’s spicy and tasty. Hmm…… Yummy.

This restaurant serve Korean beef. Korean beef is different than the beef in other countries. Usually, they are fed with corn, but in Korea they feed the cow with hays.
But I’m sorry I forgot to take a picture of the beef. Too busy eating at that time. Hahahahah

I found out the salads in some Korean food restaurants are very different than the ones in any other countries. They taste so good and fresh.
I usually eat yukhoe (raw beef salad) always with egg yoke, but I found out some places serve yukhoe without it. Great! I personally don’t eat egg due to allergy reason.

KOREA part I

Every end of the year is my treat after working the whole year. Lately my family always choose super cold places to visit for holiday just to get a different sensation since we always live in very hot climate country. This time, Korea is our choice since Japan still in the risk of radiation.
Our first journey is Nami Island where it’s very famous for shooting Korea’s drama setting of Winter Sonata. I didn’t watch it, but I know how the ladies around me are crazy about the actor, Bae Yong Joon. Lucky us going during the winter season where more than half of the places covered with white snow. It’s beautiful.
This is where we had our breakfast in the morning before we left for Nami Island at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Incheon.

What I loooooove most in Nami Island is there are many  frozen Water Fountain. They are so pretty.

David and me are joking around by posing like Bae Yong Joon on the picture behind us. Hahahahah

I wish I could take more pictures of the lake. But, my foot was freezing. Wrong boots!

The two ostriches.

My husband and my son posing copying the funny statue.

I chose the right bag travelling with me (Coach). It’ very handy. My best friends gave it to me as birthday present last November. But my mistake was wearing this long coat. It’s heavy and space consuming when I got into the restaurant.
This was my lunch. The restaurant is in the middle of the island. The chicken is served already marinated and steamed. Then, we charcoal grilled it ourselved on the table.

My 18th Anniversary & a note from David, my husband

This is my 18th anniversary. Time goes super fast. My kids now are already 10 and 12 year old. This time,we celebrate with our kids. Our lives couldn’t be better. We thank God for how He takes care of us day by day and His endless grace’s always all over us. Every day is a miracle to us.

Jacq teeth turned all black eating the squid ink pasta. We all laughed watching each other’s teeth. Hahahaha

I’m wearing a detachable apron-like collar. So I can match this collar to any other t-shirt in any other color. For me, it’s a smart invention.

A note from David:

Happy anniversary!

We just celebrated our 18th anniversary this week! We had a lovely dinner with our sons. We shared our meals. We shared our stories about our life. We shared some jokes. And, most importantly we shared our love with each other. That’s pretty much why we enjoy every moment in our marital life. We share and we enjoy together whatever we have. We believe that sharing everything will keep us more united and bonded as a family. Also, sharing would keep everyone at the same level of importance in our family. Be that as husband and wife, but also as parents and children.

Surprisingly, I kind of feel that our children being a little bit older now , show more support in our romance life. They always want to see that their parents loving each other, holding hands, showing affection and so on and so forth. They seem hurt themselves if they feel that we are a bit harsh with each other over a disagreement between my wife and I. I am so happy that they felt that way.

These past 18 years of our marriage were not always smooth sailing. And, the years to come may not be free of storms and thunders. However, I believe that this bond of love that we have will stand it all because we have got each other’s back. And we are really looking forward as we grow old together that our children will continue this value in their life.

Bali Huge Wedding

Why do I call it huge wedding? The bride and the groom invited thousands of people to attend their party at Sally’s father’s new hotel in Bali, The Rich Prada. Most of the guests don’t live  in Bali, so the couple provided all the accommodation for all of them in some other hotels since there were not enough rooms in their own hotel to accommodate all the guests and not to mention all transportation for all of them too. They had a booth with team who welcomed the guests at the airport to show them in which hotel they’re placed. Even there was an event organizer doing all the arrangement, but still it must have been complicated to organize thousands of people.

They hired the wedding decorator from Jakarta to fill the two ballrooms in the same time and, they even imported some food from Singapore. Some make up artists are from Surabaya and Jakarta to buff all the ladies in their big families.Etc……

Most of all, I think it’s one huge miracles to make this beautiful party happen successfully. For example, the day before was raining and they worried that it was going to rain on the wedding day. But with the help of some friends who prayed for this party, everything just went well according to their expectation. Thank God!

The Beauty of Christmas

I like taking picture of Christmas trees. So I post some Christmas decoration from different places during my holiday to Korea and Hongkong. I waited till I got home uploading these pictures because I did not bring my laptop with me.

This was taken in my first hotel (Grand Hyatt Incheon) before we went to the mountain the next day.

I like this Christmas tree, it’s girlie. It has a touch of silverish soft dusty pink ornamant. It was at the Duty Free Shop (Soul)

This tree for me is just ordinary only happen to match my bag :) Carrolien and her husband invited us having dinner at a really nice restaurant inside Grand Hyatt Hongkong.

I love this one’s full of toy story’s character. Cute and cuddly. Too bad I forgot to shoot very near because I was in the rush and the place was crowded full of people who wanted to take pictures also. So I just cropped the picture but it didn’t come out clear :(

The two pictures below is at the back gate of the harbour city mall. Every year they always decorates different things. The last three years I always took pictures there. This time they put a huge bow in front. So eye catching!

My favorite is this Ferrero Rocher Christmas tree. It’s very bright at night. Every morning they have somebody fix whichever plugged out by the visitor. Maybe it’s so cute and they want to bring home. Hahahahah

These two whole decoration were at the K11 mall in Kowloon. Just found out about this mall this trip. Carrollien‘s husband told us.

Christmas: God loves Us. By Rick Warren.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NLT)

God loves you so much that he sent Jesus on a mission of love with a message of love. Christmas is a yearly reminder that God loves you. The Bible says God is love. It doesn’t say God has love; it says God is love. Love is his nature; God is love.

God created the entire universe. He created this planet; he created the human race; then, he created you because he loves you.
Tuhan menciptakan alam beserta isinya .

It could be said the reason you’re alive is because God created you as an object of his love. God made you so he could love you and so that you could love him. God’s love for you is the reason your heart is beating right now; it’s the reason you’re breathing.

God’s good news is that he loves you on your good days as much as he loves you on your bad days. He loves you when you can feel his love, and he loves you when you can’t seem to feel his love. He loves you regardless of whether or not you think you deserve his love.

There is nothing you can do that will make God stop loving you. You could try, but you simply can’t do it – because his love for you is based upon his character and not on anything you do or say or feel.

God loves you so much that he sent his only Son, Jesus, into this world, “so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NLT).

When the baby Jesus grows into a man, he will stretch his arms out as wide as the cross, saying, “I love you this much! I love you so much it hurts. I love you so much I’ll die for you so that I won’t have to live without you.”
Ketika bayi Yesus bertumbuh menjadi dewasa, Dia merantangkan tangannya di kayu salib, berkata,“ Aku mengasihi engkau sedalam ini! Aku mengasihi engkau walaupun terluka sakit. Aku sangat mengasihi engkau sampai Aku mati supaya Aku tidak sampai hidup tanpamu.”

God’s love surpasses all human knowledge, and it is difficult for any of us to grasp the width and length and height and depth of God’s love for each one of us (Ephesians 3:17-19).
(Efesus3:17-19)

How would your life change if you deeply believed God loved you? Ask God to help you in your unbelief.
